Toy Zebra Goes Missing

One day Lulu and her daddy were going to the grocery store to get some things. Lulu wanted to bring her stuffed toy zebra with her. Lulu and her daddy walked to the grocery store and got a shopping cart. She sat in the shopping cart with her stuffed toy zebra. And Lulu’s daddy walked around the grocery store, putting things in the shopping cart.

While they were at the grocery store, Lulu needed to use the bathroom. So they left the shopping cart and went into the bathroom. When they came out of the bathroom, they couldn’t find their shopping cart. Lulu’s daddy asked a worker in the store if they had seen a shopping cart with some groceries in it.

And the worker said they thought somebody had left it and gone home, so the groceries were put back on the shelf. Then Lulu’s daddy got another shopping cart, and he walked around the store with Lulu getting more groceries again. By now Lulu had forgotten that she brought her stuffed toy zebra with her.

When Lulu and her daddy got back home, they put the groceries away. That’s when Lulu remembered her stuffed toy zebra. She told her daddy that it was in the first shopping cart, which was gone when they used the bathroom there. Now Lulu and her daddy went back to the grocery store.

When they arrived Lulu’s daddy asked the store manager if anybody had seen the stuffed toy zebra. The store manager said he would find out. After looking on the lost and found shelf and not seeing anything, the store manager said he didn’t see it. Then Lulu wanted to look in all the shopping carts herself.

Meanwhile there was another family who had gone grocery shopping at the same time as Lulu and her daddy. And that family had used the empty shopping cart that had Lulu and her daddy’s groceries in it. And when that family went to the checkout, the cashier thought the stuffed toy zebra was theirs, and put it in that family’s grocery bags.

When that family arrived home, they opened their grocery bags and saw that there was a stuffed toy zebra that wasn’t theirs. Then they took the stuffed toy zebra back to the grocery store. At that time, Lulu and her daddy were still at the grocery store. And Lulu was looking at each shopping cart to see if her stuffed toy zebra was there.

The family went to see the store manager and they said they found a stuffed toy zebra in their grocery bag. The manager knew exactly whose it was, and he thanked the family. Then the manager turned on the speakers and made an announcement through the whole store. He asked for the owner of the stuffed toy zebra to please go to the entrance of the store.

Lulu heard the announcement and she went with her daddy to the front of the store. That’s where they saw the manager holding the stuffed toy zebra. Lulu asked him where he found it. And he explained that it had mistakenly been taken home by another family, who just brought it back to the store. Lulu was very glad to get her stuffed toy zebra back. She asked to make an announcement over the store’s speakers. 

She thanked the family who found her stuffed toy zebra. And they heard her on the speakers and they smiled. Then Lulu and her daddy went back home. When she arrived at home, Lulu put her stuffed toy zebra on the bed, and put a blanket over it. That night Lulu was able to go to bed happily, and she went to sleep next to her stuffed toy zebra, slowly slowly slowly.
