One evening Lulu decided to have a little tea party with her stuffed toys. Lulu went to the shelf where she kept her toy animals. First she picked up her toy dog and said hello. The toy dog said, “woof,” and Lulu smiled and put the toy dog on the floor by the bed. Then Lulu went to the shelf and picked up her toy cat and said hello. The toy cat said, “meow,” and Lulu smiled and put the toy cat on the floor by next to the toy dog. Then Lulu went to the shelf and picked up her toy lion and said hello. The toy lion said, “roar,” and Luu smiled and put the toy lion on the floor next to the toy cat. Then Lulu went to the shelf and picked up her toy bird and said hello. The toy bird said, “chirp,” and Lulu smiled and put the toy bird on the floor by the lion. Then Lulu went to the shelf and picked up her toy elephant and said hello. One day a bunch of children were going for a walk altogether, and then it started to rain. They saw a giant tree down the street, that had big branches and leaves, and it was mostly dry under the tree. The children ran to the tree and stood under it to wait for the rain to finish. While they were standing under the tree one of the children said, “hey look it’s a bumbleberry bush.” And sure enough there was a very small bumbleberry bush behind the tree, which the other children didn’t see before. Then they all gathered around it and they saw that it had some berries on it. They had the idea to collect some of the berries and take it home to share with their families. So one of the children who was wearing a hat, held out the hat. The other children picked some of the most ripe berries off the bumbleberry bush, and put those in the hat. When they filled up they hat, they were ready to go, and it had stopped raining by then. They all walked together to one of their homes, and they

One day piggie went to the park to play, and was having so much fun. Piggie was running around the swings. And piggie was running around the slides. And piggie was running around the see-saw. Then all of a sudden while piggie was running, there was a big group of mosquitos flying around the park. And because piggie was running so fast through the park some mosquitos flew into her mouth. Piggie didn’t see the mosquitos and she was surprised. Then piggie started coughing and said “bleh” to try and throw up the mosquitos. Piggie tried again, by saying “bleh” over and over. Then piggie went over to mommy sitting on a bench nearby and said, “there’s mosquitos in my mouth, help me get them out.” So mommy said, “drink this juice box, with no sweeteners or artificial flavors, that has a healthy dose of vitamins which are good for you.” So piggie drank the juice to clear her throat, and the mosquitos all flew out. Then piggie felt all better, and didn’t need to say “bleh” anymore. The

One day after lunch piggie needed to use the bathroom. So she got up and walked over to the bathroom and flipped the light switch, but the light didn’t turn on. “Oh no, why won’t the light turn on?” wondered piggie. She went to tell her mommy because Piggie still needed to use the bathroom. Mommy came over and also tried flipping the light switch. But the light didn’t turn on and it was still dark. So mommy said she would go get another light bulb from the closest to change from the broken light bulb in the bathroom ceiling. But piggie said that she couldn’t wait. So then mommy said that she had a solution. Mommy got out her cellphone and turned on the flashlight in it, and set it on the counter. Now there was a light shining up and it was lighting the bathroom enough for piggie to see. “Oh thank you,” piggie said to mommy. Then piggie used the bathroom, and washed her hands afterwards. then mommy said she would change the light bulb next. So mommy got a chair to stand on, and

One day while Lulu was reading with her mommy, she saw a bookmark in the book. She thought to herself that she could make some bookmarks for her books. Her mommy got some paper, and cut it up into five rectangles, and gave that to Lulu so that she could use a pencil to draw some bookmarks. She took the first rectangle piece of paper and drew long lines across the long side of the paper. Then she drew short lines across the short side of the paper. When she was finished it looked like a net, and she called that bookmark The Net bookmark, because it could catch all the wonderful stories in her books. Then she took the second piece of paper and she drew the shape of a small hand on it. She drew it again many times, and it looked like there were lots of little hands waving in the air, on that piece of paper. She called that bookmark Waving Hands, and it would wave to her from all the wonderful stories in her books. Then she took the third piece of paper and she drew the shape of a

One day Lulu was getting ready for bed and she was putting away her clothes when she saw four different socks on the floor. So she decided to see if she could stand a little taller by putting on more than one sock on each foot. She put two socks on each foot and tried to stand taller to reach up on a shelf to get a book, but she was still too short. Then she got another two socks and put those on her feet, so now there were three socks on each foot. Again she tried to stand taller to reach up on a shelf to get a book, but she still could reach high enough. She tried a final time with two more socks, and now she had four socks on each foot, and she tried to reach up on a shelf to get a book, but she was still too short to get it. And she couldn’t fit any more socks onto her feet because they were bunching up too big, so she took off all the socks, and went to get a small chair. She put it by the shelf, and she was able to stand safely on it to reach onto the shelf. Lulu picked

One day Lulu woke up and she was getting ready for the morning with her mommy and daddy. She was happy and excited for the day. She was going to eat some eggs for breakfast, and that was exciting for her. And the type of eggs she was going to eat was hard-boiled. But she was too young to boil the eggs herself, so she needed her parents to boil it for her. But before the eggs were going to be boiled Lulu wanted to draw on them with coloring markers. So she got the first egg, and she drew some circles on it with a red coloring marker. She drew large circles, she drew little circles, and she even drew small circles inside big circles. So that became the red circle egg. Next, she picked up another egg, and drew some squares on the egg with a blue coloring marker. She drew some large squares, she drew some little squares, and she even drew some small squares inside big squares. So that became the blue square egg. Finally she got a third egg and a green coloring marker. This time she

One day piggie wanted to go for a bicycle ride, and so asked mommy if she could go bicycling. Mommy said she could go after breakfast, and so piggie ate breakfast excitedly. After breakfast, piggie helped clean up, and then got ready to go on a bicycle ride. Before leaving to go bicycling, piggie and mommy got all their safety equipment ready. Together they put on their helmets, and they also put on their gloves, and they put on their elbow pads, and lastly they put on their knee pads. Then they went outside and rode their bicycles to the park. When they got to the park it was so windy, that dust was being blown into piggi’s eyes. “Oh no, I can’t see because it’s so windy and I have to close my eyes to keep the dust out. What can we do?” piggie said aloud. Then mommy had an idea and took biggie to a sports shop where she bought a pair of swimming goggles. Piggie was waiting one Saturday morning for her five ghost friends who were coming to play with her. They each brought her a small gift. The first ghost brought her a new cup to drink from. The second ghost brought her a new plate to eat on. The third ghost brought her a new spoon to eat with. The fourth ghost brought her a new bowl to eat out of. And the fifth ghost brought her a new fork to eat with. When they all arrived together to say hello to piggie, it was so exciting because all the gifts were wrapped in little boxes. Piggie wanted to guess what the five gifts were first, before opening then. She guessed if the first gift was a toothbrush, but the five ghosts said that it’s not a toothbrush. Then piggie guessed if the second gift was a pencil. And the five ghosts said that it’s not a pencil. Then piggie guessed if the third gift was a towel. And the five ghosts said that it’s not a towel. Then piggie guessed if the fourth gift was a book. And the five ghosts said that

One day bunny was being very good and listening to everything her mommy was telling her, and had eaten all her dinner, and had done all her reading. And so bunny said that she wanted some chocolate ice cream, but when the freezer in the kitchen was opened they could see that all the chocolate ice cream was gone. It was already all eaten. So then the next day bunny and mommy went to the store together to buy some more chocolate ice cream. And while they were at the store they saw their friends and they said hello. And they asked their friends what they were getting from the store. And their friends said that they were getting some soap, because they wanted to take a bath and they were all out of soap, and so they needed to get some more soap. And the friends asked bunny what she was getting from the store, and bunny laughed and said that she's getting some chocolate ice cream from the store, because she finished all her dinner and had done all her reading, and the chocolat

Baby zebra and madame gazelle. One day baby zebra wanted to go outside and have a fun day, so madame gazelle said they can go for a ferry ride. So they got ready to go outside. When they went outside they walked to the ferry terminal, and they waited for the next ferry to take them to Staten Island. While waiting for the ferry, they saw a lot of birds flying above their heads and they waved at the birds. When they got on the ferry, they were riding along and they looked down over the side of the ferry and they saw some fish in the water, and they waved to the fish. Then when the ferry arrived at Staten Island, baby zebra and madame gazelle got off the ferry and they walked around on Staten Island. They could see Brooklyn from where they were walking, and then they decided to watch the sunset over the water towards New Jersey. Hello world, I am embarking on a project in which I am writing children's stories. The main inspiration for me is my three year old niece, who lives far away, and who I would like to connect with more. Also, I enjoy writing, and my sister has asked me to write her short stories which she can read to her young daughter every day. So with that in mind, every day I have been writing and emailing short children's stories to my sister for my niece to enjoy. My sister tells me that nowadays during quarantine times, my short stories are about the only thing that holds my niece's attention. So I thought I would begin posting them online for the world to see, and to get some constructive criticism and feedback. That way I can improve my story writing, and perhaps in a year's time have enough material that is good enough to turn into a book. Come along and join me in this journey. Some of the stories are on ideas my niece has requested. Others are just from my own imagination
