The Water Balloons

One day Lulu was at home reading a book. Then the phone rang and it was Jimmy. He was calling Lulu and asked her to meet him at the park, because he wanted to show her something new that he got. Lulu got ready and went outside. When she arrived at the park, she sat on a bench and waited for Jimmy. 

After a while Jimmy arrived. And he had a backpack with something inside it. Jimmy opened the backpack and took out a balloon and showed it to Lulu. She tried to pick it up but it was heavy. There was something inside it. Lulu asked what was in it, and Jimmy said that he filled the balloon with water. 

Lulu laughed and thought that was funny. Then they decided to play a game with the water balloon. They stood facing each other and were able to hand each other the water balloon. Then they each took a step back and threw the water balloon to each other. They were able to catch it. 

Then they took five steps back from each other and threw the water balloon to each other. This time it was harder to catch. Next they took ten steps away from each other. Now they were standing far apart. Lulu was holding the water balloon, and she threw it to Jimmy. 

But he couldn't catch it, and the water balloon burst in front of him, and water splashed onto the ground. Jimmy had some more empty balloons in his backpack. And then Lulu had an idea. They could play a guessing game, and put different things in the balloons. 

Lulu took two balloons and told Jimmy to close his eyes. While Jimmy closed his eyes, Lulu filled one balloon with leaves, and then she filled a second balloon with dirt. Then she put them in front of Jimmy and gave him a stick. She told Jimmy that he had to poke each balloon with the stick after guessing what was in it. 

Jimmy looked at the balloon and picked it up. It was soft and he guessed that it had some flowers in it. He poked that balloon with the stick, and the balloon burst and leaves fell out all around him. He laughed and then he picked up the second balloon and it felt heavy. 

He guessed that it had water in it, and he poked it with the stick. And that balloon burst and dirt fell out all around him. He laughed again. Then Jimmy had an idea of what to do with the rest of the balloon. They wanted to make a small landing zone of balloons at the bottom of the slide. 

Lulu and Jimmy both walked over to the playground and asked the other kids to stop using the slide for a little while. Then Jimmy and Lulu dug a small pit at the bottom of the slide. Next, they took all the remaining small balloons that Jimmy had in his backpack, and they filled those balloons with air. 

Then they put all those balloons into the small pit. Now they told the other kids that they could use the slide again. This time when the kids reached the bottom of the slide, they landed in a pile of balloons that Jimmy and Lulu had put there. The other kids thought that was a lot of fun, because it felt like swimming in a pool of balloons. 

Then it was becoming time to leave, and everybody was going home. Lulu said goodbye to Jimmy. And before he left, he gave Lulu one more bag of empty balloons. She took them home, and filled them with air and put them under her bedsheet. Then she ate dinner. And after dinner she brushed her teeth and got ready for bed. Then she laid down on top of the balloons, and went to sleep, slowly slowly slowly.
