Lulu And The Wooden Tray

One day Lulu was at home reading. While she was reading the phone rang. It was her friend Jimmy. He called her to see if she wanted to come over and play. Lulu said that sounded nice. Lulu got ready to go and put on her shoes. Then she got her bicycle out and rode to Jimmy's place. When she arrived there, she knocked on the door. 

Jimmy let her in, and he said he had some new blocks they could play with. Lulu asked where his old blocks were. Jimmy took those out to show her. A lot of his old blocks had cracks in them and some were starting to break. Lulu asked if they could glue some of his old blocks together and build something. Jimmy said that would be fine. 

They wondered what they would make. Then Lulu had an idea. She said they should take a bunch of old blocks and put them together to make a big square. Then they glued those together. Next they took some more blocks and put those on the edges of the square and glued that to make a small wall around the square. 

Now they had a tray made of wooden blocks. Lulu and Jimmy needed the glue to dry. And while they were waiting for the glue to dry , they decided to go to the park. They both bicycled together to the park. When they arrived there, they saw the merry-go-round. They both got on the merry-go-round. And pushed it, and they went round and round, spinning in a circle. 

When the merry-go-round stopped, they got off it. Lulu thought of something they could do with the tray made of wooden blocks. They went back to Jimmy's home to get the wooden tray. Then they brought it back to the park. Lulu said they could play a game, where one of them sits on the merry-go-round. And the other would spin it. And the one one the merry-go-round has to throw a rock while spinning, and aim for the wooden tray. 

Jimmy laughed and said they could do that. He let Lulu go first. She picked up some rocks and held them in her hand. Lulu sat on the merry-go-round, and Jimmy pushed it, and it began to spin. The wooden tray was on the ground to the side. As the merry-go-round spun in circles, Lulu threw the small rocks one by one. The first rock missed the wooden tray. 

The second rock hit the corner of the wooden tray. And the third rock flew right over the wooden tray. The merry-go-round stopped spinning and she got off. Lulu said it was very difficult, and told Jimmy he could try next. He picked up some small rocks and put them in his pocket. Jimmy sat on the merry-go-round, and Lulu pushed it. 

Jimmy got ready as he began to spin around. He aimed for the wooden tray and threw the first rock. The rock hit the tray and bounced off. Then he threw the second rock and it went in the other direction than where the wooden tray was. When he threw the third rock, it fell to the side of the wooden tray. Jimmy let the merry go round finish spinning, then he got off. 

He had a new idea, and told Lulu that they should put the wooden tray on the merry-go-round, and then spin it. While it's spinning they could try and throw the rocks into the wooden tray. Lulu said that sounded great. They picked up some more rocks and got ready. Lulu put the wooden tray on the merry-go-round, and Jimmy pushed it to start spinning. 

As the wooden tray went round and round, they threw the small rocks towards it. But the rocks just bounced off the merry-go-round. They took the wooden tray off the merry-go-round, and walked to the swings. Jimmy suggested that now they try to throw rocks into the wooden tray while swinging on the swings. Lulu agreed to try. They put the wooden tray on the ground in front of the swings. 

Then they sat on the swings and began swinging back and forth. They threw the rocks towards the wooden tray. One rock from Jimmy landed in the tray, and one rock from Lulu landed in the tray. They both laughed and got off the swings. Then Lulu saw somebody sitting on a bench and painting a picture. Lulu and Jimmy walked over to see what the painting looked like. 

They could see that it was a painting of the park, and trees, and sky. The painter ran out of some paint colors, and wanted to mix some together. But the painter didn't have a way to mix the colors. Then Jimmy and Lulu said that they had a wooden tray and the painter could mix some paint colors in it. The painter said that would be very nice. Jimmy brought the wooden tray over, and the painter put yellow and red paint in it and mixed it together. 

Then the two mixed paint colors made the color orange. Now the painter could paint an orange colored sun on the picture. Lulu thought the painting looked beautiful. The painter finished painting the picture, and Jimmy said the painter could keep the tray. The painter wanted to thank Jimmy, and gave him the painting. 

Lulu thought the painting was beautiful, and Jimmy said Lulu could keep it. Lulu thanked Jimmy and was very happy. Then Jimmy said he was ready to leave. Lulu said goodbye to him and he went back to his place. Lulu bicycled home with the new painting. When Lulu got home, she put the painting on the refrigerator. 

Then she got ready for dinner with her parents. After finishing eating, Lulu picked a book from the bookshelf to read. After finishing reading, Lulu was ready for bed. She brushed her teeth, and then laid down. She closed her eyes, and went to sleep, slowly slowly slowly.
