The wishing waterfall

One day bird was flying and looking for elephant. When bird found elephant, she flew down and told elephant that she found a wishing waterfall, and that if they threw some coins in, they could have a wish come true for a day. Elephant wanted to see this wishing waterfall, and he followed bird through the forest, until they came to the waterfall. 

It was a big waterfall, and they were standing at the bottom of it. Elephant didn’t have any coins, but bird said she’ll go find some. And then she flew up in the air, and flew off into the distance until elephant couldn’t see bird anymore. Then after elephant was waiting for a while, bird came back. 

Bird had a coin which she found on the ground far away, and she gave that to elephant to throw into the wishing waterfall. Elephant thought about what wish to make for one day, and he decided that he wanted to fly up high in the sky with bird. And Elephant threw the coin into the wishing waterfall, and wished to be able to fly. 

All of a sudden, elephant’s ears became bigger, and he tried flapping them like wings. And he started to run forward on the ground. Then as elephant flapped his big ear some more, he started to lift off the ground. And now elephant was flying in the air. He kept going higher and higher, and then he was very high up in the air. 

Elephant looked around, and saw that bird was flying up from the ground, to join him up high in the air. They flew above the forest, looking at everything on the ground below them. Elephant thought it was a much faster way to go to different places. But after a while elephant began to become tired, and he told bird that she needed a rest. 

Then bird said they could fly to a branch high up in a tree and sit on it for a rest. When they got to a tree branch, elephant sat on it. But because he was an elephant, the branch broke and elephant fell to the ground. When he landed on the ground, he was alright, but he saw that a pigeon’s nest had also fallen down on the ground from the branch. 

Bird saw what happened and came down to make sure elephant was alright. Then elephant said he needed to collect some sticks and fly up to another branch and make a new nest for the pigeons, who were not there right now. Bird helped collect some sticks, and together they built a new nest for the pigeons. 

Elephant left a note that said “sorry your nest fell down when I sat on the branch and it broke, but we made you a new nest.” Then elephant decided that he didn’t want to fly anymore, because it was better to just be the way he already was, instead of trying to be something else. 

Then elephant walked back to his home in the forest, with with bird sitting on his back. When elephant arrived at home, he said goodbye to bird. And bird flew away. Then elephant wanted to take a nap, and laid down, and went to sleep, slowly slowly slowly.
