Lulu goes swimming

 One day Lulu wanted to go for a swim. So Lulu and her mommy packed a small backpack with a swimsuit, a towel, arm floats, and swimming goggles. Plus a snack of a bag of grapes with a rubber band that tied it closed. Then Lulu went to the swimming pool. 

At the swimming pool Lulu saw some friends were also swimming there. Lulu went over to them and said hello. Then one of them suggested that they all do some diving from the low diving board. That sounded fun, so they all walked over to the diving board, and lined up behind each other. 

One by one they each went onto the diving board, and jumped off it in a funny way, splashing around when they landed in the water. First they all tried a normal front jump. Then they all tried jumping backwards. Then some of them tried doing a front flip. Then some of them tried doing a back flip. 

And then they all tried bouncing on the diving board to jump higher up in the air before landing in the water with a big splash. They even tried doing the cannonball, by jumping off the diving board and tucking their body close together, and pulling their knees close to their body with their arms wrapped around their knees. 

Lulu was having a lot of fun. Then they all took a break, to rest. And Lulu shared her snack of grapes with the friends. After taking a little rest, they went back into the swimming pool. When Lulu jumped off the side of the pool and landed in the water, all of a sudden the swim goggles came off of Lulu’s face. 

Lulu was able to grab the goggles floating in the water, and went back to the edge of the pool and got out. Lulu looked at the goggles and the strap at the back of the swim goggles had broken. Lulu told her mommy that her swim goggles broke and that she would have to go home. 

But Lulu’s mommy had a good idea. Lulu’s mommy asked Lulu to take out the bag of grapes. And then Lulu’s mommy took off the rubber band that was holding the bag of grapes closed. Then Lulu’s mommy pulled the rubber band apart so that it was not a loop anymore, but just a straight line now, with two free ends, like a piece of string. 

Then Lulu’s mommy took the broken strap off the swim goggles, and tied one end of the rubber band on the left side of the goggles, and tied the other end of the rubber band on the right side of the goggles. Then she handed the fixed goggles back to Lulu to try on. 

Lulu put the swim goggles on again, and it fit very well. Lulu was very happy, and was able to keep swimming with the friends. Then after they all finished swimming, it was time to go home. Lulu and her mommy went home. And that night Lulu was able to go to bed very easily, because of being tired from so much swimming. And Lulu went to sleep, slowly, slowly, slowly.
