Making a New Book
One day Zebra went to visit her friend Bunny. When Zebra arrived at Bunny's home, Bunny was sad. Zebra asked Bunny why he was sad. And Bunny said it was because his favorite book got ruined. Zebra asked what happened. Bunny said that he was reading his favorite book.
Then he became thirsty, and put the open book on the table, and went to get a glass of water. He poured the water into a glass and put it next to the book. Then Bunny needed to use the bathroom, and got up, but bumped the table. And when the table was bumped, the glass was knocked over. And the water in the glass spilled onto the book, and all the pages got wet.
And when Bunny picked up the book, all the pages tore apart and fell out. Zebra said that was a sad thing. And Zebra offered Bunny a hug, and he said that was nice. Then Zebra asked what she could do to make things better. Bunny said he didn't know. Zebra asked if Bunny would like to go for a walk together. And Bunny said that sounded nice. Zebra and Bunny went outside to go for a walk.
While they were walking outside zebra saw a lot of their friends playing games at the park. Zebra asked Bunny if he wanted to join them, but Bunny said no. Then bunny said he just wanted to go back home. Zebra said that was alright, and she walked back to Bunny's place with him. When they arrived there, Zebra had an idea.
She asked bunny if she could borrow his favorite book that got wet and ruined. Bunny said all the pages were loose, but that she could borrow it. Then Zebra said she was going to leave for a while and come back later. Bunny wanted to stay at home and said he would see Zebra later. Then Zebra left.
She went to her home and got a stack of blank paper, and a bunch of pens. Then Zebra went back to the park where a lot of friends were playing. Zebra walked up to them and told them that she needed their help. She said that Bunny's favorite book got wet and ruined. And that made Bunny very sad. Zebra said she had an idea that they could all help to re-write Bunny's favorite book.
The friends asked how. And Zebra said that she brought a stack of blank paper and a pen for all of them. And that they could each take a loose page from Bunny's favorite book, and use pens to copy that page onto a blank sheet of paper. They all agreed. They spent the whole afternoon re-writing the wet pages onto the blank papers.
Then when they were all finished they gave the written papers to Zebra. Zebra collected all the papers together, and put them in order, from the first page to the last page. Then Zebra glued them all together and made a cover for the new book. Zebra drew on the cover, a picture of all the friends who helped rewrite the new book.
Then Zebra asked all the friends to sign their names inside the front cover of the book. Finally Zebra wrapped the book up. Zebra said she was going to go to Bunny's home to give him the handmade book. And she invited all the friends to come along. They all walked together to Bunny's home. When they arrived there, Zebra surprised Bunny with a gift.
Bunny invited them all inside, to have some tea. Then Bunny opened the gift and saw that it was a handmade book that was rewritten from his favorite book that got wet and ruined. Bunny saw all their names, and was very happy, and thanked everybody. Then Bunny went to get the tea, but first put away the book. Bunny didn't want any tea to spill onto this new book.
Bunny poured some tea for all the friends, and they drank it. When they were finished they all said goodbye to Bunny and left. Bunny was excited for his new book. Bunny cleaned up all the cups of tea and put them away. Then Bunny got ready for bed and took out his new book. As Bunny was reading, he became tired and went to sleep, slowly slowly slowly.
