Lulu Builds A Ramp

One day Lulu was in the car with her parents. They were driving back home. Lulu looked out the car window and saw some people on bicycles. They were riding up on a ramp, and jumping their bicycles off it and landing on the ground. Lulu thought that looked amazing. And she wanted to try that herself. But this bicycle area was far away from where she lived. 

Then Lulu decided that she would make her own bicycle ramp. When Lulu arrived at home she called Sally on the phone. She told Sally her idea, and Sally agreed to come over and help. Lulu asked Sally to bring a shovel. When Sally reached Lulu's home, Lulu was ready with her own shovel in her backpack. The two of them rode their bicycles to the park nearby. 

They took the shovels out of their backpacks and went to one end of the field at the park. Then they started to dig. After a while they had dug a small hole. And the dirt that came out of that hole in the ground, they piled in one spot. And that pile of dirt became a ramp, as it went up a slope from the ground. Sally said she would try first. She got on her bicycle and started riding towards the dirt ramp. 

But when she reached the dirt ramp her tire just got stuck in the dirt. Lulu realized that they needed to put something on top of the dirt. Lulu went and found a large flat piece of wood. She put that on top of the dirt pile and now they had a wooden ramp. Sally tried again, and rode her bicycle up the wooden ramp. But at the top she stopped, because she didn't want to fall off the other side. 

Then Lulu and Sally realized that they needed to make a soft landing. Lulu suggested that they go to the store and get a lot of pillows and make a giant pile of pillows. Sally agreed and they went to the store together. They got a lot of pillows and brought it back to the field. Then they put the pillows on the other side of the ramp. 

Now Sally tried again. She rode her bicycle up the wooden ramp, but she stopped at the top. She didn't want her bicycle to fall onto her. Sally brought her bicycle back down to the ground. Then she walked up the ramp and jumped off the top onto the pile of pillows. That was a soft landing. Then Lulu had a different idea. 

She and Sally went to Lulu's home to get a cart with wheels, and a stretchy rope. They brought that back to the ramp at the field. Lulu and Sally tied one end of the stretchy rope on a tree. And they tied the other end of the stretchy rope on another tree. The middle of the stretchy rope was near the wooden ramp. Then they tied the cart with wheels to the middle of the stretchy rope. 

Lulu sat in the cart and asked Sally to pull the middle of the stretchy rope back. Sally pulled it and then let go. The cart went up the wooden ramp, and then at the top Lulu bounced out of the cart and landed on the pile of pillows. The cart went back down the wooden ramp with the stretchy rope. Lulu laughed and Sally said she wanted to try. Lulu came over and Sally sat in the cart. 

Lulu pulled the middle of the stretchy rope back. Then she let go and the cart with Sally went up the wooden ramp. At the top, Sally bounced out of the cart and landed on the pile of pillows. She laughed and said that was fun. Then some other kids came over from the playground nearby and they wanted to try it. 

One by one they all took turns, bouncing off the cart and landing on the pile of pillows. Then the stretchy rope broke. Lulu and Sally gave the other kids each a pillow. Then the other kids went back to the playground. And Lulu and Sally used the shovels to put the dirt back in the ground. Sally said goodbye and left. Then 

Lulu put the wooden board on the cart and pulled it behind her bicycle and rode home. When Lulu got home, she cleaned up and got ready for dinner. After dinner, she read from one of her books. Then she got ready for bed and brushed her teeth. Finally, Lulu laid down, closed her eyes, and went to sleep, slowly slowly slowly.
