Lulu And The Ship

One day Lulu was getting ready to go with her parents to visit two of her cousins. She was excited to see them. Lulu finished breakfast with her parents and got ready to go. They got in the car and started driving. As Lulu sat in the back, she looked out the window. She saw some other cars driving on the road.

Then for a while there was a car that was driving next to them. And there was a boy in the back seat of the car. Lulu had an idea and she got out her notebook and a pen. She wrote on her notebook "let's play a drawing game." And she held the notebook to the window. The boy in the other car saw what Lulu wrote. And he took out a notebook he had, and he wrote on it "okay that's a fun idea."

Then Lulu drew a picture of a car, and she held that up to the window for him to see. Then the boy drew the same car, and added a drawing of a dinosaur. And he showed that to Lulu from his window. Lulu laughed and she also drew a dinosaur on her notebook. Then she added an airplane to the drawing, and showed that to the boy through her window.

The boy drew the same airplane with the dinosaur and car on his notebook. Then he drew lots of apples falling out of the airplane on the dinosaur. He showed that to Lulu through the window. Lulu laughed and then she wrote "let's make a story from the drawings." And she held that up to the window. The boy saw her message and he wrote the first sentence.

He wrote, "there was a car driving down the road." He showed that to Lulu, and she wrote, "then a dinosaur came and picked up the car." She showed that to the boy, and he wrote, "the dinosaur was going to eat the car, but an airplane flew in front of it." He showed that to Lulu, and she wrote, "then the airplane dropped apples on the dinosaur." She showed that to the boy, and he wrote, "the dinosaur put down the car and ate the apples instead."

Lulu laughed, and saw the boy smiling. Then the car the boy was in started to turn away, and he waved. Lulu waved back and saw that car drive away. Soon Lulu and her parents arrived at their cousin's house. Lulu's parents picked up two of her cousins and drove to a park nearby. This was a new park, and Lulu had not been there before.

In the park there was a small toy ship that they could climb onto. Lulu and her two cousins climbed onto the toy ship and pretended that they were on the ocean. She told her cousins that there was a whale that was swimming next to the ship. Lulu's daddy pretended to be the whale. He came up to Lulu and told her a message.

Lulu's cousins asked what the message was. And Lulu said that the whale told her an octopus was stuck in some fishing nets. Lulu's cousins said they should take the ship to go help the octopus. Lulu's mommy pretended to be the octopus. And the three of them pretended to control the ship towards the octopus.

Lulu's mommy stood next to the toy ship. And Lulu said she and her cousins had come to help get the octopus unstuck. Lulu's mommy was holding a bag, and pretended that was the fishing net. Lulu's cousins picked up a stick and used that to pull the bag off her mommy. Then Lulu said to put the bag on the toy ship.

Lulu's mommy moved her arms up and down like an octopus swimming away, and she thanked them for helping her get unstuck. Then Lulu and her cousins were thirsty and wanted a drink of water. They got down off the toy ship in the park, and went back to the car. There they drank some water from the water bottles.

Now it was time to go back to her cousins' house to have dinner together. Lulu and her mommy and daddy sat down with Lulu's cousins and their parents. The cousins' parents had made some soup, and it was very good. Then after dinner it was time for Lulu and her mommy and daddy to go home.

Lulu wanted to give something to her cousins. She took out her notebook and drew a picture of herself and her cousins on the ship. She gave that drawing to her cousins. Then Lulu and her parents said goodbye to her cousins' family. She got in the car with her parents. While they drove home, Lulu was looking out the car window. But then she closed her eyes, and went to sleep, slowly slowly slowly.
