Zebra and the Balancing Rock
One day Zebra was riding a training bicycle through the animal town. Zebra was still learning to ride the bicycle, and had training wheels on the back. These were two smaller wheels on the left and right side of the back wheel. It allowed Zebra to ride the bicycle without losing balance.
While Zebra was riding the training bicycle, she saw Tiger. And Tiger was also riding a bicycle, but Tiger's bicycle didn't have any training wheels on it. Zebra asked Tiger how to ride a bicycle with only the front and back wheels. Tiger said that he could help Zebra learn to ride without the training wheels.
Tiger got off his bicycle and put it on the ground. Then he walked over to Zebra's bicycle and took off the training wheels. Now zebra's bicycle looked like Tiger's bicycle, with only the front and back wheels. Tiger asked Zebra to try and ride her bicycle. Zebra started pedaling, but after a few seconds, Zebra was losing her balance, and began tipping over.
She put her feet down down on the ground and stopped her bicycle. Tiger walked over to her and suggested that he run alongside Zebra while she rode her bicycle. Tiger stood on the left side of Zebra and she started pedaling again. After a few seconds, she started wobbling, and was leaning to the left.
Tiger caught her and kept her from falling to the ground. And Tiger ran forward, holding Zebra's left handlebar while Zebra kept pedaling. Then Tiger had an idea and said they should stop for a moment to try something else. Zebra got off her bicycle and put it on the ground.
Tiger told Zebra to wait for a minute while he went to get something. Tiger ran off, and then came back after a minute. Tiger brought a small rock with him. Tiger said that this was a balancing rock. And that zebra would be able to balance better with it. Tiger had a piece of chalk and drew a line on the ground.
Then Tiger asked Zebra to stand at one end of the line. Tiger put the balancing rock on top of Zebra's helmet that she was wearing. And he asked her to close her eyes and walk forward on the chalk line, while balancing the rock on her helmet. Zebra closed her eyes, and began to walk putting one foot in front of the other.
After reaching the end of the chalk line, Tiger said to stop and open her eyes. Zebra could see that she was still on the line. The balancing rock had helped. Then TIger told Zebra to put the balancing rock in her pocket and try riding her bicycle. Zebra got on her bicycle, and started pedaling.
The balancing rock was in her pocket, and she kept pedaling faster. Now she was riding her bicycle and able to go forward without losing her balance. Then tiger got on his bicycle and rode it quickly to catch up to zebra. Tiger told Zebra that the faster she rode the bicycle the better her balance would be.
Zebra asked about the balancing rock, and Tiger said that was just to help her start pedaling in the beginning. And now that Zebra was riding the bicycle just fine, she didn't need the balancing rock anymore. Zebra wanted to find out and stopped her bicycle. She gave the balancing rock to Tiger, and she tried pedaling again.
As zebra rode her bicycle without the balancing rock, she was still able to keep her balance and not fall off. Tiger was very proud of Zebra, and Zebra thanked tiger for helping her. Then it was time to go home, and Zebra said goodbye to Tiger. Then Zebra rode her bicycle all the way home. When she got home she was ready for a nap, and she laid down, and went to sleep, slowly slowly slowly.
