Lulu and the Submarine
One day Lulu was eating breakfast, and her parents told her that today they were all going to go for a submarine ride together. A submarine is a type of boat that closes full, and can take people underwater. Lulu was excited and finished eating her breakfast. Then she washed the dishes and put them away.
Lulu got ready and put on her shoes and jacket. Then she got in the car with her mom and dad. Lulu's mom drove to the waterfront where the submarine was kept. While they were in the car, Lulu looked out the window and wondered what she would see through the window of the submarine.
They arrived at the waterfront and got out of the car. There was a line of other people who were also going on the submarine today. Lulu's parents bought three tickets for them, and they waited in line. Lulu could see part of the submarine out of the water.
When the submarine door opened people were able to walk down a ramp and into the door. It was big inside. Almost like being in a bus without wheels. When Lulu and her parents were inside the submarine with the group of people, the door was closed. There were windows that were watertight, and the door was also watertight, so no water came inside.
Then the submarine driver started the submarine, and it began to go underwater. Lulu looked out the window as they slowly went down underwater deeper and deeper. There were lots of colorful fish that Lulu could see out the window. As the fish swam around, it looked like they were floating. Then the submarine went further down and reached a cave tunnel.
The submarine went through the cave tunnel, and its lights shined in front of it. But at the end of the tunnel there was something blocking the way. When they got closer they could see that a whale had become stuck at the end of the cave tunnel. The submarine approached the whale carefully, and gently pushed so that it could get out of the cave tunnel opening.
The whale smiled and swam away. Then the submarine continued out of the cave tunnel. Then as the submarine kept going along underwater, there was a banging sound. Everybody looked out the windows on one side of the submarine, and they could see that a ship's anchor had gotten hooked onto the submarine.
The ship was above them on the surface of the water. Now the submarine driver didn't know what to do. Then Lulu saw out the windows on the other side that the whale was swimming back to the submarine. The whale saw the ship's anchor hooked onto the submarine.
And the whale used its large tail to knock the ship's anchor off the submarine. Now the submarine could keep going. The submarine driver brought the submarine back up to the surface of the water and parked it at the waterfront. The door was opened, and everybody stepped out and walked up the ramp.
Lulu and her parents enjoyed the submarine ride very much. And Lulu was amazed to see how the whale had helped them, after they had helped the whale. Then Lulu and her parents drove back home. When they arrived at home, Lulu drew a picture of the submarine and the whale. And she drew herself looking out a window in the submarine.
Then it was time for dinner, and Lulu sat down and ate with her parents. Lulu's parents asked her what she liked about the submarine ride. And Lulu said that she liked seeing the whale. After dinner, Lulu read a book then got ready for bed. She brushed her teeth and then laid down, and went to sleep, slowly slowly slowly.
