Lulu and the Post Office

One day Lulu was baking a cake. It was her friend Sally's birthday, and Lulu wanted to make a nice cake for Sally. Lulu spent all morning baking the cake, and then finally the cake was ready. Lulu got a box, and packed up the cake in the box. Then she put the box in a bag. Lulu was getting ready to go to Sally's place.

Lulu put on her shoes, picked up the bag with the cake in it, and went outside. Lulu was taking the bus to Sally's place. Lulu waited at the bus stop, and there were some other people also waiting at the bus stop. Soon the bus arrived, and Lulu went in the bus.

She sat down on a seat near a man and put her bag next to him. The man sitting near Lulu also had a bag with a box in it that looked like Lulu's bag. Lulu brought a book with her and began reading her book on the bus. After a while, the bus arrived near the post office, and the man sitting near Lulu was getting off the bus.

The man picked up a bag and left. Then when the bus was approaching Sally's home, Lulu got ready to get off. She picked up the bag near her and she rang the bell on the bus to make it stop. Then the bus stopped and Lulu got off. She went to Sally's home and Sally was excited to see Lulu.

Then Lulu showed Sally the bag and said that it was a cake for Sally's birthday. Sally opened the box and when she looked inside there was no cake in it. Instead, there were some clothes in the box. Lulu was confused and wondered what happened to the cake. Then Lulu realized what must have happened.

The man who was sitting near Lulu on the bus, must have mistakenly taken the bag with the cake box in it. And this bag with the clothes box must be his. Lulu remembered that he got off the bus near the post office. Lulu told Sally that the man must have wanted to mail the box of clothes to somebody.

Lulu and Sally decided to go to the post office to see if the man was there with the cake box. Lulu and Sally took the bus to the post office. When they got there, they saw the cake. The man also saw Lulu and Sally walk in with the box of clothes. They all laughed and were glad that they found each other.

The man gave Lulu the box of cake. And Lulu gave the man the box of clothes. The man was able to pack up the box of clothes again. And he gave his box to the post office worker, because he was mailing it to a friend of his. Then the other people in the post office saw the cake and asked Lulu what it was for.

Lulu said that it was Sally's birthday. Everybody in the post office started singing happy birthday to Sally. Then Lulu and Sally decided to share the cake with the people in the post office. They ran to the store and got some plates and forks. They also got some candles and some matches.

They came back to the post office, and put the candles in the cake. Then Lulu used a match and lit the candles. Sally made a wish and blew out all the candles. Sally wished that there would be enough cake to share, and also have some leftover cake to bring home.

Then they cut up the cake into many slices and handed it out in the post office. When everybody at the post office had a slice of cake, there was still half of the cake leftover. Then Lulu and Sally were ready to leave. They took the leftover cake back to Sally's place. And Sally put the rest of the cake in the refrigerator.

Sally was glad that Lulu had remembered the other bag that looked like hers on the bus. Because then Lulu was able to go to the post office and find the box of cake. And she was able to return the box of clothes to the man who took the wrong bag off the bus by mistake.

Now Lulu was ready to go home and she said goodbye to Sally. Sally gave Lulu a small bag of books she had borrowed from Lulu before. And Sally also gave Lulu two slices of cake to share with her parents. When Lulu rode the bus home, she made sure to keep the bag of books on her lap, so that it didn't get mixed up on the seat with other people's bags.

Then Lulu arrived at home and put the books away. Then she got ready for dinner with her parents. She also shared some leftover cake with them. They ate dinner together, and afterwards Lulu got ready for bed. She brushed her teeth, and laid down. And she went to sleep, slowly slowly slowly.
