Lulu and the Big Tire

One day Lulu was reading a book. And in the book there was a child who was swinging on a rope and tire swing. Lulu thought that was very clever. She wanted to try and make one, but she needed some help. Lulu decided to go and tell Sally her idea. Lulu got on her bicycle and rode to Sally's home.

When Lulu arrived at Sally's place, Sally was having lunch. Sally invited Lulu to have lunch with her. Lulu said yes and sat down at the table. Sally's daddy was making tomato soup, and also grilled cheese sandwiches. Lulu and Sally each got a bowl of soup, and a plate of half a sandwich. Lulu cut up her grilled cheese sandwich into small pieces.

And she used a fork to dip each piece of the cut up sandwich all the way in the soup. That way each small piece of sandwich was completely covered with tomato soup. Sally chose to eat bites of her sandwich in between eating spoonfuls of soup. When they were done eating lunch, they cleaned up the dishes and put them away.

Then Lulu told Sally that she read about a big tire being used as a tire swing. And Lulu wanted to make one at the park. Sally thought that sounded great. Sally got ready to go with Lulu, and took her bicycle out. Lulu wondered where they could find a big tire. And Sally said that they could try at the car repair shop.

Then Lulu and Sally rode their bicycles down the street. They arrived at the car repair shop and they talked to the mechanic. They told him that they wanted to make a tire swing, and they needed a big tire. The mechanic told them that he had a big tire that he took off the wheel from a huge truck.

And he said that he didn't need the big tire anymore, because it had been replaced. Lulu and Sally needed a way to bring the tire to the park. The mechanic had a small cart which he let Lulu and Sally borrow. Lulu attached the cart to the back of her bicycle, and then she and Sally put the big tire onto the cart.

Then Lulu and Sally rode their bicycles to the park. When they arrived at the park, they pushed the tire off the cart. Then they rolled it over to a tree, and under a large branch. Now they needed some rope. Sally said she had some rope at home, and she quickly rode her bicycle home, and got some rope, and brought it back. Now Lulu and Sally needed some help lifting the tire swing up off the ground.

There were some other kids playing at the playground in the park. Lulu and Sally went over to those kids and said they were making a tire swing and they needed the kids to help them. The other kids went over to the tree. Lulu tied one end of the rope around the tire. Then they kids lifted the tire.

And Sally climbed up the tree and tied the other end of the rope to the large branch. Now the tire swing was ready. Lulu sat in the middle of the tire, and Sally pushed her from behind. The other kids all clapped their hands and cheered Lulu on. As Lulu swung back and forth, the knot she tied with the rope on the tire became loose.

Then as she swung forward again, the big tire came off the rope. The big tire started rolling across the park, and Lulu tucked her arms and legs into the middle of the tire. Sally saw the tire rolling away, and quickly got on her bicycle and followed Lulu. The big tire with Lulu in it started rolling down a hill, and was going faster.

Sally quickly rode next to the big tire and tried to stop it. Then the big tire bumped on a rock, and started to bounce off the ground. Finally the tire and Lulu bounced into a sandbox, and tipped over. Lulu was dizzy and glad Sally was there. Sally helped Lulu get out of the big tire.

Lulu sat down, and Sally went to bring Lulu's bike on the cart over to Lulu. Then Lulu said that she needed to go home and rest, but she didn't feel well enough to ride her bicycle. Sally said that Lulu could sit on the cart and Sally would pull her back home. Lulu agreed and put her own bicycle on the cart behind Sally's bicycle.

Then Sally rode to Lulu's home and helped Lulu get inside. Sally left, to bring the cart back to the mechanic at the car repair shop. Lulu put her bicycle away, and had a drink of water. Then she decided to take a nap and rest. Lulu laid down, closed her eyes, and went to sleep, slowly slowly slowly.
