Tiger Finds a Cave

One day Tiger was running through the forest. Tiger was running very fast and went very far. Then tiger came to a new part of the forest he hadn’t seen before. And as tiger explored this part of the forest, he saw a cave. Tiger walked into the cave, and on the other side of the cave was another part of the forest. But in this forest everything looked different. The sky was dark and looked very cloudy and smokey.

That was strange, Tiger thought. Then Tiger walked around and saw Lion. And Lion looked very tired. Tiger asked Lion what was going on. And Lion said that there was a big fire on this side of the forest, and it was making everything very smokey. And that all the other animals were hiding in safety. Tiger asked Lion how to help.

And Lion said that they needed a lot of water to put the fire out. Then Tiger had an idea and ran back through the cave. He came out the other side and went to look for his friend Pigeon. Tiger told Pigeon about the fire on the other side of the cave, and said that Lion needed help to put it out.

Then Pigeon said that she would go and get his friends to help. Pigeon flew and went to the tops of the trees, and told the other birds that they needed to go find some buckets. And a hundred birds flew out of the tree tops, and they went to look for some buckets. They flew to the castle where Turtle lived. And the birds asked Turtle if they could borrow some buckets.

Turtle said yes, and the hundred birds all picked up a hundred buckets. Then they flew to the lake and used the buckets to scoop up some water. And they flew back to where Tiger was waiting. Then tiger led them to the cave, and the birds followed him. Tiger ran through the cave and came out on the other side.

The air was very smokey over there, and the pigeons saw Lion waiting there. Lion told all the birds which way to fly to find the fire. The birds carried the buckets of water high up in the sky, and they found the fire burning some trees. The hundred birds poured the hundred buckets of water over the fire, and the fire was put out.

Then all the animals that were hiding came out and thanked the pigeons and also tiger. The animals wanted to thank Turtle in the castle for letting the birds use the buckets. And the animals followed Tiger through the cave, all the way to the castle. When they all arrived at the castle they wanted to paint a wall on the castle to celebrate that day.

The animals got some paint and made a big painting with Tiger standing next to Lion in front. And beside them was Lion, and Pigeon next to Lion. And in the big painting there was also a hundred birds painted flying above them. Turtle thanked the animals for the nice painting. And then all the animals were ready to leave and they all said goodbye. Then the animals went back through the cave to the other side of the forest, to their homes.

Tiger had been running back and forth so much, that he noticed how dirty he had become. He was covered all over with dust. Then Tiger went home to take a bath. And after the bath, he was tired and ready for a nap. Tiger laid down to rest, and went to sleep, slowly slowly slowly.
