Lulu and the Water Fountain

One day Lulu was going to visit her friend Jimmy. She took the train to his home. When she got there he invited her to have some lunch together. They made sandwiches together. One sandwich was with turkey and cheese, and the other sandwich was with peanut butter and honey. Jimmy suggested that they cut the sandwiches to share with each other, and Lulu liked that idea. 

They cut the first sandwich from corner to corner, and it was cut into two triangles. They cut the second sandwich right down the middle, and it was cut into two rectangles. Lulu and Jimmy ate the sandwiches and were ready to go outside. Jimmy told Lulu about a new fountain that he heard was built nearby. 

They put on their shoes and walked down the street to the end of the block. There they saw a large water fountain. It was round like a big bowl. And the big fountain bowl was as tall as their legs. The middle of the fountain had a shape like a bottle, and it was very big. And the middle of the fountain sprayed water up, which then splashed down into the bowl shape bottom part. 

The middle part of the fountain was much taller than both of them. And all around the sides of the fountain were little holes that also sprayed water up. Lulu and Jimmy heard some music, and they saw that the water fountain was spraying water to match the music. When the music was fast, the water sprayed very high. 

And when the music was slow, the water sprayed very low. Then Lulu and Jimmy saw a delivery truck park next to a store near the water fountain. The truck driver opened the back of the truck and he put some containers of laundry soap on a cart to deliver to the store. All of a sudden the cart started rolling away from the truck, and it bumped into the fountain. 

The containers of laundry soap spilled into the water fountain. Lulu and Jimmy watched as the water fountain started to make a lot of bubbles because the laundry soap was mixing with the water. Then the bubbles started flowing out of the fountain. Lulu and Jimmy were amazed at the amount of bubbles that were coming out. 

The giant bubbles flowed onto the street and Lulu and Jimmy climbed up a tree and sat on a branch. The bubbles kept flowing and getting bigger and covered the whole street. Then the bubbles were as high as Lulu and Jimmy, and they started floating on the bubbles. Lulu and Jimmy floated on top of the bubbles all the way down the street until they got to Jimmy's building. 

Then they went inside and went upstairs. They watched from a window as a fire truck arrived. And the firefighters used a water hose to spray over the bubbles and to burst all the soap bubbles. Then the bubbles all went away, and the street was very clean. Now it was time for Lulu to go home. She said goodbye to Jimmy and left. 

When she went down to the subway train station she saw that it was still full of bubbles and the train was shut down. Then Lulu took the bus back home. When she got home she ate dinner with her parents, and she told them about the water fountain and the giant bubbles. Lulu's parents suggested that she take a bubble bath after dinner.

Lulu was careful to only put a little bit of soap in the bath water. After her bath, she got ready for bed and put on her pajamas. Then she brushed her teeth. Lulu noticed that while she brushed her teeth there were also bubbles made by the toothpaste. After brushing her teeth, she laid down, closed her eyes, and went to sleep, slowly slowly slowly.
