Lulu and Sally Find a Solution

One day Lulu was reading a book at home. While she was reading there was a phone call. Lulu's mommy answered the phone, and it was Sally's mommy who was calling. Sally wanted to know if she could come over to Lulu's home. Sally had something new to show Lulu.

And Lulu said that was fine, and she got ready for Sally to come over, and put her book away. When Sally arrived, she brought her backpack with her. Lulu asked what was in the backpack. And Sally opened the backpack and showed Lulu six new bean bags.

The bean bags were little square pockets of cloth, with beans inside. In Sally's backpack, she also had a wooden rectangle with a hole in it. And Sally said that they could go to the park and play a game of bean bag toss. Where they stand back and throw the bean bags at the hole in the wooden board.

Lulu thought that was a great idea, and she got ready to go outside. They put their shoes on and walked to the park. When they got to the park, they found a tree to lean the wooden board onto. Then they stepped back and took turns throwing the bean bags at the wooden board. While they were playing, there was a bird up in the tree watching them below.

All of a sudden the bird flew down and picked up one of the bean bags and flew back up into the tree. The bird started poking the bean bag, and some beans spilled out. And the bird began eating the beans that were in the little bag. Then the bird dropped the small empty bag. Now Lulu and Sally needed to fix it.

They decided to go back and empty all the bean bags, and fill it with rice. They opened each bean bag and poured out the beans. Then they filled it with dry rice, and went back to the park. They took turns throwing the small pockets of rice bags at the wooden board.

While they were playing there was a squirrel up in the tree, watching them below. And all of a sudden the squirrel ran down and picked up one of the rice bags, and ran back up the tree. The squirrel started biting the rice bag, and some rice spilled out. And the squirrel began eating the dry rice that was in the little bag.

The squirrel dropped the small empty bag. Again, Lulu and Sally needed to fix it. They decided to go back and empty all the small bags of rice. They opened each bag and poured out the rice. This time they filled all the bags with sand, and then they went back to the park.

Again, they took turns throwing the small pockets of sand bags at the wooden board. And while they were playing the bird and the squirrel both went to where the sand bags had fallen. And the bird and squirrel sniffed the bags, then ran away. They didn't want to take the sand bags. Lulu and Sally were glad they finally found a solution. They finished playing their game, and then it was time to go home.

Lulu said goodbye to Sally and went home. When Lulu got home her mommy asked for help to make dinner. When Lulu's mommy looked for the rice, she couldn't find any. And Lulu told her mommy that she had used the rice to make rice bags because a bird had eaten the beans in the bean bag. And then the squirrel also ate the rice in the rice bags. Until they used sand to fill the bags.

Lulu's mommy laughed, and said that they could get more rice at the store the next day. And tonight they made some pasta instead. After dinner, Lulu got ready for bed and brushed her teeth. Then she laid down and went to sleep, slowly slowly slowly.
