Lulu and the Rooftop
One day Lulu was listening to the radio, and she heard an announcement. There was going to be a grand opening of the tallest building in the city. And people who wanted to go see the rooftop there on the first day could call the radio station and request an invitation. Lulu called the radio station and said that she would like two tickets.
One was for her, and one was for her mommy. The radio station said that she could go pick up their tickets after the phone call. Then Lulu and her mommy got ready to go to the tallest building. When they arrived at the radio station, there was a long line of people waiting to pick up their tickets.
When Lulu and her mommy stood in line, after a minute she saw her friend Jimmy and his daddy walking up. Jimmy had also heard the radio announcement and came to pick up the tickets. When it was their turn, they all received their tickets. Then they went to the middle of the city, where the tallest building had been built.
They walked to the front door and showed their tickets. They were led to an elevator with a group of other people. And they rode the elevator up all the way to the top. It was a hundred floors all the way to the roof. Lulu had never been up so high before. On the rooftop there was a surprise.
The owners of the building had made the world's longest slide, which started from the rooftop. Lulu wanted to ride it and she was the first one. This slide was different, because it wasn't open from above. It was a clear plastic tube that a person goes through. Just like a giant straw.
There was a person at the start of the slide that helped people get onto it. Lulu sat at the start, and then the slide worker helped Lulu move forward. Then she began sliding down the side of the building. The slide went around the whole building until it reached the ground.
But then Lulu saw that the slide tube went down into the ground where there was a tunnel. Lulu kept sliding, and went underground. Next she saw that outside the clear slide tunnel she could see dirt and earthworms. Then the slide tunnel kept going underground and she saw that she was next to a train in the train station.
And finally the slide tunnel turned and dropped Lulu off in a big room. There was a sign that said welcome to the basement of the tallest building. There was a worker there that helped Lulu get out of the slide. After a few minutes Lulu saw her mommy come out of the slide tunnel.
Then Jimmy's daddy came out of the slide tunnel. But after a few minutes Jimmy still hadn't arrived. Lulu said she would go to the rooftop to find out what was going on. The building worker led her out of the room to an elevator. Lulu rode the elevator back to the rooftop.
She told the slide worker that her friend Jimmy hadn't come out of the slide. The slide worker said that he might be stuck in the tunnel underground. Lulu said she would go down again and help him out. As Lulu was sliding through the slide tunnel underground, she saw Jimmy in front of her, and he was stuck where the slide tunnel turned.
As she kept sliding towards Jimmy, she bumped into him, and that helped him get unstuck. Then they both kept sliding down together, until they finally came out into the basement room. Jimmy's daddy thanked Lulu for helping Jimmy get unstuck. Then it was time to leave, and Lulu and her mommy said goodbye to Jimmy and his daddy.
When Lulu and her mommy went home, they took the subway train. While they were on the train, they saw the clear slide tunnel next to the train, and they saw some people sliding through it. When they arrived at home, Lulu was tired and ready for a nap. She laid down, closed her eyes, and went to sleep, slowly slowly slowly.
