Lulu and the New Puppet

One night morning Lulu woke up and remembered that today there was a performance in the park. There was going to be a puppet show on a stage at the park. Lulu was excited and wanted to go there early. She sat down to have some breakfast. Lulu ate yogurt with strawberries. After breakfast Lulu got ready, and put on her shoes. Then she and her daddy went outside. 

They took the bus to the park. While they were on the bus, Lulu's friend Jimmy and his mommy got on the bus. They were also going to see the puppet show at the park. When the bus arrived near the park, Lulu with her daddy and Jimmy with his mommy all got off the bus. 

They walked to the park, and saw some folding chairs set up, and also a stage set up. They sat down on the front row and waited for the show to begin. After a while, more people arrived, and everybody sat down on the folding chairs. Then the performers came out onto the stage. 

They all had puppets on their hands, and they sang and danced on stage. Then the performers asked for two volunteers watching the show to come up on the stage. Lulu and Jimmy both raised their hands. One of the performers stepped off the stage and walked up to Lulu and Jimmy. 

And the performer brought Lulu and Jimmy up to the stage and everybody clapped their hands. The performer said that they wanted to make a new puppet, and that Lulu and Jimmy could help decide what it would be. The performer had different pieces of toy animals on the stage that they could put together. 

First they had to choose the head. Lulu chose the head of a toy cat. Next they needed to choose the body, and Jimmy chose the body of a toy cow. Then they needed to choose the legs. And Lulu chose the legs of a toy bird. Next they needed to choose the tail. And Jimmy chose the tail of a toy fish. 

The performer picked up all those different pieces of the different toy animals, and put them together. Now the audience watching the show could see the new puppet that Lulu and Jimmy had helped to make. It had a cat's head, a cow's body, a bird's legs, and a fish's tail. 

The performer said that the new puppet had a special role in the show. It would be on the show's new poster. Then the other performers brought out a big blank poster paper. And they took out some paint and paintbrushes. They all painted a big painting of the new puppet that Lulu and Jimmy made together. 

Then Lulu and Jimmy stepped off the stage, and sat down in their seats again. The end of the puppet show was next. And there was a puppet in the show who had just moved to the neighborhood and didn't have any friends. But the animal puppet which Lulu and Jimmy made became friends with the other puppet. 

Then the puppet show finished with a final song and dance. And all the performers left the stage. Lulu with her daddy said Jimmy with his mommy went to the bus to go home. When Lulu and her daddy arrived home, they ate dinner. And after dinner Lulu drew a picture of the puppet that she and Jimmy made together, with different toy animal parts. Then she got ready for bed and brushed her teeth. And finally she laid down and went to sleep, slowly slowly slowly.
