Lulu and the Paper Plates

One day Lulu and her daddy were getting ready to have a picnic with Sally and her dad. Lulu helped pack up the food, and also the paper plates and plastic forks. Then they walked to the park and met Sally and her mom and dad. 


They all sat down on a big blanket and took out the containers of food. And Lulu gave everybody a paper plate and a fork. They were eating some pasta that Lulu's parents had made. And they were eating some salad that Sally's parents had made. After they had all eaten, Lulu and Sally went to the playground to play. 


While the girls were playing, they saw some kids wearing shirts with animal drawings on them. Then Lulu had a funny idea. The girls went back to the picnic blanket. There were some extra paper plates left over. Lulu wanted to make something out of the paper plates. 


Lulu had brought her backpack, and she had some things in it. She had crayons, and scissors, and tape, and string. Lulu told Sally that they could draw faces of animals on the paper plates. 


Lulu took the first paper plate and drew a lion's face on it. Then she cut out two holes for the eyes. Next she got some string and taped it to the sides of the paper plate. Now she had a lion mask. And she gave that to her daddy to put on his face. 


Lulu took the second paper plate and drew a zebra's face on it. Then she cut out two holes for the eyes. Next she got some string and taped it to the sides of the paper plate. Now she had a zebra mask. And Lulu put the zebra mask on her own face. 


Sally took the third paper plate and drew a cat's face on it. Then she cut out two holes for the eyes. Next she got some string and taped it to the sides of the paper plate. Now she had a cat mask. And she gave the cat mask to her dad to wear. 


Sally took the fourth paper plate and drew a dog's face on it. Then she cut out two holes for the eyes. Next she got some string and taped it to the sides of the paper plate. Now she had a dog mask. And Sally put the dog mask on her own face. 


Some of the other kids playing at the playground saw the masks that Sally and Lulu were wearing. Lulu handed out more paper plates to the other kids. And they each drew a different animal's face on the paper plate, and made an animal face mask to wear. Now it looked like the playground was a zoo, with many animal faces drawn on the paper plates. 


Then it was time to go home. Lulu and Sally packed up and said goodbye. Lulu and her daddy walked home. When they got home they were still wearing their paper plate animal masks, and Lulu's mommy saw that and laughed. Then it was time for dinner, and Lulu put the paper plate masks on the fridge with magnets. 


After dinner, Lulu brushed her teeth and got ready for bed. Then Lulu took the zebra paper plate mask off the fridge, and put it on her stuffed toy zebra. That made Lulu laugh, and she laid down, and went to sleep, slowly slowly slowly.

One day Lulu was getting ready for her friends Sally and Jimmy to come over and have lunch together. While getting ready, Lulu decided to wear a hat today. So she went to the closet and picked out a nice hat. It was a red knit hat with a puff ball on top.  Lulu liked how it looked on her, and then she picked out a book to read while she waited for her friends. Sally arrived first, and when she knocked on the door, Lulu answered it. A Tunnel Digging Machine

One day Tiger was going for a walk. While Tiger was walking he passed by Zebra's place. Tiger wanted to say hello to Zebra and he knocked on her door. But there was no answer. He left a note on the door saying that he had stopped by. Then Tiger left and continued on his walk. After a while, Zebra came home and saw the note Tiger had put on her door.  Zebra used her phone to call Tiger and he answered. She said she had just seen his note. Tiger told her he had stopped by earlier but she wasn't home. Zebra told Tiger that she had been working on a project. Tiger asked what it was, and Zebra said she would show him. She asked Tiger to come meet her at her place. Tiger said he could be there soon.  After a short while, Tiger came over and Zebra let him in. A Can of Paint

One day Lulu was getting ready to go for a bicycle ride. She put on her helmet and took her bicycle outside. She rode past the park and reached a large parking lot. The parking lot was empty today, and there were no cars parked there. Instead, Lulu saw that there were some artists drawing things on the ground.  Lulu got off her bicycle and walked up to the artists. She asked them what they were making. They told her that they were making different designs with paint. Then they told Lulu that she could also join them if she wanted. Lulu said she would like to do that. She wondered what she could make.  The artists gave Lulu a can of paint, and a paintbrush. Lulu walked to a blank spot in the parking lot and she took the lid off the can of paint. She dipped the paintbrush into the paint and started to draw a circle.
