Delivery with Lulu

One morning Lulu’s family had received a package in the mail. They had ordered a chair and it was delivered in a large box. Then Lulu had a funny idea and wanted to see if she could mail herself to Sally’s home. Lulu was going to use the same box.

She got a piece of paper and covered her family’s name and address. Then she wrote down Sally’s family name and address on the box. She also wrote down that it was a surprise for Sally. Lulu got a pillow and put it in the large box, so that she could sit on it and be comfortable.

The box was dark inside, and Lulu put a flashlight in it so that she could see. She also put a book in it so she could read while waiting. Lulu also brought another book to give to Sally. Then she took the box downstairs and put it where the mail gets picked up. She had some tape with her, and she got inside the large box.

It was just big enough for her to sit inside it. Then she taped the box closed from the inside. Lulu waited for the delivery worker to come pick up the mail. And Lulu had poked a small hole through the box so that she could see outside. Lulu waited for a while.

And then the post office worker came to pick up the mail going out, and also the large box with Lulu in it. The box was put in the back of the delivery truck, and Lulu could see other boxes around her. Then the delivery truck started moving as the post office worker drove off.

After some time, the delivery truck arrived at the post office, and the large box was taken off and put inside the big warehouse. That’s where all the mail and packages were sorted in groups for the different places to be delivered. There were hundreds of other boxes to be delivered there.

Then another post office worker came and put the large box that had Lulu in it, into a different delivery truck. The truck was filled with more packages. Then the other post office worker started driving the delivery truck to different neighborhoods. Lulu looked out through the hole in the box and watched as the delivery truck arrived at Sally’s street.

Then the post office worker took out the large box with Lulu in it, and brought it to Sally’s home. Sally opened the door and took the large box inside. She didn’t know what was in it. Sally read the label and saw that it was a surprise for her. She was excited and started to open the box.

All of a sudden Lulu jumped up and pushed the top of the box open. Lulu smiled at Sally and said “surprise.” Sally laughed and asked Lulu what she was doing in the box. Lulu told Sally that she had delivered herself in the large box to Sally to bring her a book. Sally thanked Lulu and invited Lulu to have some lunch. Sally and Lulu ate together.

Then Lulu was ready to go back home. This time Lulu took the bus home, which was much faster. When Lulu arrived at home, she was ready to have a nap. And she laid down and closed her eyes, and went to sleep, slowly slowly slowly.
