Wet paint
One day Lulu was walking outside when she saw a sign on the ground. The sign said “wet paint.” She looked in front of her and saw that part of the sidewalk had been freshly painted. But Lulu also saw that some people didn’t see the sign, and they walked through the wet paint on the ground.
The people’s shoes made paint footprints on the ground as they walked ahead. Lulu wanted to see what would happen if she walked through the paint. She stepped onto the wet paint and continued walking forward. As she looked back, Lulu could see that her shoes had also made paint footprints on the ground.
Then Lulu had a funny idea. She wanted to make horse footprints on the ground. Lulu went home and got some cardboard. And she cut out two shapes of horse feet, and she put those on the bottom of her shoes. Then Lulu went back outside to the place where the ground had wet paint on it.
Lulu stepped onto the wet paint and then walked forward. As she walked, Lulu looked back, and on the ground was paint footprints that looked like a horse was walking there. Lulu walked all around the neighborhood with the horse footprints on the ground behind her.
Then Lulu took off the cardboard shapes of horse feet from her shoes and put them in her backpack. Next Lulu went to her friend Sally’s home. Lulu told Sally that there was something exciting to go and see outside. Lulu took Sally to the wet paint sign and pointed at the ground.
Sally could see that a lot of people’s shoe prints were made by stepping into the paint. Then Lulu pointed at the horse footprints and said that it looked like a horse had walked through there. Sally was surprised and wondered where the horse had gone.
Lulu said that they should follow the horse footprints to try and find it. Sally said that was a good idea, and the two of them started walking together. The horse footprints led to a bus stop. But Sally didn’t think the horse went on a bus. Lulu pointed at the ground and Sally could see that the horse footprints continued away from the bus stop.
Then the horse footprints led to a bakery. But Sally didn’t think the horse went into the bakery. Lulu pointed at the ground and Sally could see the horse footprints continued away from the bakery. Then the horse footprints led to a grocery store. But Sally didn’t think that the horse went into the grocery store.
Lulu pointed at the ground and Sally could see that the horse footprints continued away from the grocery store. Then the horse footprints led to the park, and stopped at a bench. Sally wondered where the horse went after that, because there were no more painted horse footprints on the ground.
Then Lulu opened her backpack and took out the cardboard shapes of horse feet and showed it to Sally. When Sally saw that, she laughed. Lulu said there was not a real horse walking around the neighborhood, because it was just her that made the footprints on the ground.
Sally laughed again, and Lulu smiled at making Sally laugh. Sally asked if she could borrow the cardboard shapes of horse feet. She wanted to make some horse paint footprints outside her home as a joke with her parents. Lulu gave the cardboard horse feet shapes to Sally. Then it was time for Lulu to go, and she said goodbye to Sally.
Lulu went home and got ready for dinner. After dinner Lulu helped clean up. Then she took a book off the bookshelf, and sat down to read. After she finished reading she was ready for bed, and brushed her teeth. Then Lulu laid down, closed her eyes, and went to sleep, slowly slowly slowly.
