Making Grape Juice

One day Lulu went to go play in the park. Her daddy packed a lunch for her. And then she walked to the park. When they arrived at the park, Lulu saw her friend Sally. The girls ran around and played on the playground. Then they got hungry and stopped to eat lunch.

They sat on a bench to eat lunch together, while taking a short rest. Sally’s mommy had also packed a lunch for Sally to eat. Lulu opened her box of lunch to see what her daddy had packed. There was a cheese sandwich, some grapes, and a bottle of water.

And Sally opened her box of lunch to see what her mommy had packed. There was a peanut butter sandwich, some carrots, and a bottle of water. Lulu and Sally both ate their sandwiches. Lulu dropped a piece of her sandwich. She picked it up and walked to a garbage can to throw the piece away.

When she came back to the bench she wasn’t looking where she was sitting. By mistake Lulu sat on her ziplock bag of grapes. The grapes were all squished and squashed. And the grapes that got squeezed made some juice in the ziplock bag.

Then Lulu had an idea and invited Sally to come over to her home. They left the playground and went to Lulu’s home. When they got there, Lulu told Sally that her idea was to make grape juice from grapes. But there were no more grapes at home. The two girls went to the grocery store to buy some more grapes.

They came back and Lulu took out ten ziploc bags. Lulu put some grapes in all the ziplock bags. Then Lulu and Sally started to press and squeeze the ziplock bags one by one, and squash the grapes inside. The grapes were squeezing out some juice as they were being pressed. The grape juice was collecting the bottom of the ziplock bag.

When Lulu and Sally had squeezed all the ziplock bags of grapes, they carefully opened one. Lulu poured the juice out of the ziplock bag and into an empty pitcher. Very little juice came out. Then one by one Lulu and Sally poured the juice from the other ziplock bags into the pitcher.

When they were finished they only had enough for two glasses of grape juice. And they had a lot of leftover squeezed grapes in the ziplock bags. Then they took out some bread to make some toast. And they spread the smashed grapes onto the toast.

They ate the toast with the smashed grapes, and drank the grape juice. Then they were both tired, and decided to take a nap. Lulu and Sally laid down on the sofa. They closed their eyes, and went to sleep, slowly slowly slowly.
