Lulu Uses Packing Tape

One afternoon Lulu was going to the park. When she got to the park she saw that some people were gathered around the pond. She walked over to see what they were doing. They were floating some toy boats around the pond. Lulu wanted to try, but she didn’t have a boat. Then she thought of an idea. She would use a small cardboard box.

Lulu went home to look for a small empty box. She found one and brought it back to the park. Lulu walked over to the pond and put the box in the water. She watched as it floated for a minute. But then after a couple minutes the box became wet, and water started to get inside it. The small box wasn’t able to float anymore.

Lulu picked it up out of the water and saw that the cardboard box was falling apart. She couldn’t use it anymore, and she threw it away. Then she had another idea of what to do differently. She went home again and looked for another small cardboard box. She found one, and this time she made a change.

Lulu also got out some packing tape. Then she stuck some packing tape all across the bottom of the cardboard box, outside the box. She also put some packing tape all across the sides of the box, outside the box. Now Lulu was ready to take the cardboard box back to the pond, as it was more waterproof with packing tape.

Lulu walked back to the park, and carried the small empty box with packing tape, over to the pond. She put it in the pond and watched for a few minutes. The small cardboard box stayed floating in the water. Then she saw a frog jump into the small box. And the small box started to float away from where Lulu was standing at the edge of the pond.

The small box with the frog in it floated to the other side of the pond. On the other side, the frog jumped out and hopped away. Lulu laughed. Then she saw a squirrel jump into the small box on the other side of the pond. And the small box with the squirrel in it started to float towards Lulu. When the small box reached the edge of the pond where Lulu was standing, the squirrel jumped out and ran off.

Lulu laughed because it looked like the small box was being used as a water taxi by the frog and squirrel. Then it was time to go home, and Lulu picked up the cardboard box. She took it home with her, and she cleaned it up. Then it was time for dinner. Lulu ate dinner with her parents, and helped wash the dishes after afterwards. 

After dinner, Lulu took out a sheet of paper and drew a frog and squirrel on the paper. She cut out the drawings of the frog and the squirrel. And she put the picture of the frog and the picture of the squirrel in the box. Then it was time for bed, and Lulu put away the box with the frog and squirrel drawings in it. She brushed her teeth, then laid down. Lulu closed her eyes and went to sleep, slowly slowly slowly.
