Delivering the mail

One day Lulu was going to a park, and she was going to take the bus. She walked to the bus stop and waited for the bus. While she was waiting for the bus, she saw a postal worker come and stand at the bus stop with her. Lulu asked the postal worker lady why she was at the bus stop.

The postal worker lady said that her postal truck broke down, but she still had to deliver the mail. Lulu said she would help out, and the postal worker said thank you. When the bus arrived, Lulu and the postal lady got on the bus, with all the bags of mail.

Then when they got to the street where the mail needed to be delivered, they got off the bus. Lulu and the postal worker were very careful to cross the street safely, carrying all the bags of mail. Then they walked down the street of houses, and the postal worker put the mail in the mailboxes.

Lulu helped by holding the mail bags open, so that the postal worker could pull out the envelopes and letters. When all the mail in the mail bags had been delivered, the postal worker thanked Lulu, and said goodbye. Then Lulu walked back to the bus, and decided to go to her friend Sally’s house, who lives nearby.

When Lulu met her friend Sally, she told Sally all about the adventure with the postal lady. Sally said Lulu was very nice to help. Then Lulu had an idea. She and Sally could draw some pictures and put those in Sally’s mailbox. And then when the postal worker comes to put some mail in it, she would see the drawings made for her.

Sally thought this was a great idea, and they drew some pictures of the postal worker driving the postal truck. And they drew flowers all over the paper, and they wrote the words “thank you for your hard work” on the paper. Then they folded the paper and wrote “for our friendly neighborhood postal worker” on the folded paper.

The next day Lulu called Sally on the phone and asked her to check the mailbox to see if their drawing was gone. Sally took a look and saw that their drawing had been taken. And there was a note with some stickers on it that said “thank you for the drawing, here are some stickers.”

Lulu was excited about the stickers, and she went to her friend’s house to see the stickers. The stickers looked like postal trucks. Lulu and her friend put the stickers in their notebooks, and were glad that the postal worker left the stickers for them.

Then Lulu went home and put her notebook with the new stickers, on the bookshelf. It was time for dinner and Lulu ate with her parents. After dinner Lulu read one of her books. Then she got ready for bed and brushed her teeth. She laid down, closed her eyes, and went to sleep, slowly slowly slowly.
