Lulu dreams of magic clothes

One day Lulu woke up from a very funny dream, and she could remember it. In her dream, Lulu had a birthday and she was getting bigger, and she got some new clothes, and she was excited to try them on. She got a new shirt, and she got a new pair of pants. 

The shirt fit very nicely, and so did the pants. Then in the dream, she saw that the tag on the shirt and the tag on the pants was written, “scratch for an extra one.” Lulu didn’t know what that meant, so she scratched the tag on the shirt, and suddenly an extra shirt appeared magically. 

Then she scratched the tag on the pants, and an extra pair of pants appeared magically. In her dream, Lulu laughed with surprise. It seemed like she got some magic pants and shirt for her birthday. Now she had two shirts and two pants. Then she decided to scratch the tags on both shirts, and suddenly two extra shirts appeared magically. 

In her dream she laughed again. Next she scratched the tags on both pants, and suddenly two extra pants appeared magically. She laughed some more. So now she had four shirts and four pants. She didn’t know what to do with so many shirts and pants. In her dream, Lulu decided to try again. 

She scratched the tags on all four of the shirts, and then four more shirts suddenly appeared magically. So then she had eight shirts. And next she scratched the tags on all four of the pants, and then four more pants suddenly appeared magically. And then she had eight pairs of pants. 

Altogether she had sixteen new clothes, with eight shirts and eight pants. In her dream Lulu was excited to have so many new clothes. Then she tried scratching the tags on the shirt and pants again, but this time when she did that, all the extra clothes suddenly disappeared. 

And she was left with only her original shirt and pants. In her dream, Lulu was confused why this happened. So she looked closer at the tags on the shirt and pants, and she could see that it was written on the back of the tag, “scratching the tag after seven extras will make them all disappear.” 

Now that Lulu was awake from her dream, she went to the closet to get some fresh clothes for the day, and she was curious if what she had dreamed about could be real. So she tried scratching the tag on her shirt, but nothing happened. Then she tried scratching the tag on her pants, but nothing happened. 

So she realized that it was just a funny dream. The only thing written on the tags of her real clothes were washing instructions. Lulu also saw in her closet that her laundry basket was full, so it was probably time to do laundry. Then she laughed and wondered if she had a dream about extra clothes appearing magically because it was time to do laundry. 

And in a different way of thinking, when the laundry is done, it can feel like having new clothes all over again. Because the clothes are fresh and clean altogether at once. Lulu laughed, and got ready to do laundry. And she took her laundry to the washing machine, to wash her clothes, slowly slowly slowly.
