Lulu and the stick bridge
One day Lulu was reading a book about some builders. And then she thought that she would build something out of her legos. But what would she build? She was thinking and thinking, and then she came up with an idea. She would build a toy road with a bridge.
She got her legos out, and she started putting the pieces together to make a small road, the size of her foot. Then she got some more lego pieces, and she put those pieces together to make a small bridge the size of her hand. She thought about different types of bridges.
There are bridges that go over railroad tracks, bridges that go over other roads, and bridges that go over water. Then she got an idea of making a small wooden bridge in the park to go over the small creek, so that squirrels could cross over it. Lulu got some string, and took that with her, and she walked to the park.
When she got there, she went to the grass field near some trees, and found the small creek which was small enough that she could step over it. There was a little water going down the creek, and so she picked a spot that she saw would be a good place to build a little bridge for the squirrels to cross over.
Lulu walked around and collected a bunch of sticks. When she had around ten long sticks collected, she used the string to tie all the sticks together, so that altogether they became a small flat board. Then she picked up her wooden bridge of sticks, which was as long as her arm, and she placed it over the small creek.
But no squirrels came to the bridge to cross over the creek. Then she thought of an idea to bring the squirrels out. She went home and got some mixed nuts, and brought that back to the park. She put a few mixed nuts on one side of the wooden bridge that she had made, and then she stepped back and waited.
At first, nothing happened, then she waited patiently for some more time and finally saw a squirrel come down a tree and it hopped over to the edge of the small creek. But the squirrel grabbed the mixed nuts and then ran back up the tree.
Then Lulu tried again by placing some more mixed nuts on the middle of the wooden bridge she made, and then she stepped back a distance and waited quietly. This time the squirrel came down the tree, hopped to the edge of the small creek, went to the middle of the wooden bridge and grabbed the mixed nuts and went back up the tree.
Now Lulu knew what she needed to do. She put some more mixed nuts on the other side of the small creek, across the wooden bridge, away from the side with the big tree. This time the squirrel came down the tree, hopped to the edge of the small creek, then it jumped over the small creek and over the wooden bridge, to the other side where Lulu and put more of the mixed nuts.
The squirrel grabbed the mixed nuts, and then ran back over the wooden bridge and the small creek, and ran back up the tree. Lulu laughed and was glad that the squirrel finally used her wooden stick bridge. Then Lulu was ready for dinner and she went back home.
When Lulu arrived at home she ate dinner. After dinner she drew a picture of what she did that day in the park. Lulu drew a small creek, a wooden bridge made of sticks tied together with string, a big tree, and a squirrel. Then Lulu was tired and she got ready for bed. She brushed her teeth, then laid down and she went to sleep, slowly slowly slowly.
