A surprising new book

One day Lulu and her mommy came back from the bookstore. And Lulu was excited about the new book that they got. It was a story about animals in the ocean. And Lulu was going to read it that night before going to sleep. At the end of the day, Lulu opened up her new book and looked through the pages to see what all the different animals in the ocean were.

There was a page about a whale, there was a page about a walrus, there was a page about a shrimp, there was a page about a turtle, there was a page about a fish, there was a page about a dolphin, there was a page about a shark, and there was a page about a lobster, and there was a page about an octopus.

Lulu looked out the window and could see the moon was full, and high up in the sky. Then Lulu saw that the book was starting to shake. And then she heard a noise from the book, and somebody said “hello.”

Lulu was surprised, and then saw that out of her new book were popping out the whale, the walrus, the shrimp, the turtle, the fish, the dolphin, the shark, the lobster, and the octopus.

Altogether there were nice ocean animals that popped out of the book. Lulu asked, “what are you doing out of the book, ocean animals?” The octopus said, “this is a special book, and when it’s bought from the bookstore and we go to our new home, we like to meet who’s going to read about us.”

Lulu said, “that’s very nice, my name is Lulu, and it’s great to meet all of you.” The ocean animals all said hello. Then the octopus said, “we’re going to go say hello to the moon, since there’s a full moon out.” And Lulu asked, “how will you make sure none of you gets lost?” And the octopus answered, “all the ocean animals in this book will hold my arms, since I have eight arms.”

And Lulu watched as the whale held the first arm, and the walrus held the second arm, and the shrimp held the third arm, and the turtle held the fourth arm, and the fish held the fifth arm, and the dolphin held the sixth arm, and the shark held the seventh arm, and the lobster held the eighth arm.

Now all nine of them were together, with eight of the ocean animals holding the octopus’ eight arms. Then they started floating up and out of the window, and Lulu saw them floating up to the moon, all holding the octopus’ arms.

Then they circled the moon, while Lulu was laying down in bed. And she saw the ocean animals from her book floating back to her window. Then the ocean animals went back into her new book, while Lulu went to sleep, slowly slowly slowly.
