The Magic Sweater

One day Lulu and her parents were walking around their neighborhood. While they were walking past some houses, they saw a sign that said there was a garage sale. They decided to go and take a look. They walked over to a house where there were a lot of things put in the front yard. The people who lived in the house were selling some clothes, some books, some furniture, and some kitchen dishes.

Lulu walked around and looked at the different books. She didn't see any books that interested her. Then she saw a sweater, and it was labeled "magic sweater." And there was a picture Lulu showed it to her parents and they thought it looked nice. They also wanted some of the kitchen dishes.

They bought a few nice bowls and plates. And they also bought the sweater. Then they went home to wash and put away the dishes. Lulu wanted to wear the sweater. She put it in the laundry and washed it with some other clothes. When the laundry was done, she put the sweater on over her shirt.

She wondered what made the sweater a magic sweater. Lulu decided to call Sally and see what she was doing. Sally invited Lulu to come over to her place. Lulu said that she would come over. Lulu got ready to go, put on her shoes, and went outside. She started walking to Sally's place. While Lulu was wearing the magic sweater and walking to Sally's place, a bird came and landed on Lulu's shoulder.

Lulu was surprised but she kept walking. As Lulu continued walking down the street another bird landed on her shoulder. Lulu wondered if the birds were landing on the magic sweater because of the picture of the bird on it. As she kept walking, more birds landed on her shoulders. Then Lulu stretched out her arms and birds landed on both her arms.

Suddenly the birds started flapping their wings and pulled the sweater up, and Lulu began to be lifting into the air. Now the birds were flying up high in the sky in one place. Then Lulu pointed forward and the birds started flying that way. Lulu pointed in the direction of Sally's building and the birds flew there, carrying Lulu by the sweater.

Then the birds flew down, and set Lulu on the ground and quickly flew away. Lulu went upstairs to Sally's place and knocked on the door. Sally opened the door and asked Lulu how she got there so quickly. Lulu told Sally about the magic sweater and the birds. Sally was amazed and asked Lulu if she could try the sweater. Lulu said yes, and handed the sweater to Sally.

Sally put the sweater on and they went outside together. Sally and Lulu started walking down the street towards the park. Then a bird came and landed on Sally's shoulder. Soon another bird landed on Sally's other shoulder. Lulu told Sally to hold out her arms. Sally did that, and after a few minutes more birds landed on Sally's arms. Then all the birds picked up the sweater and lifted Sally up, as they flew through the air.

Then the birds were flying in one spot, and Lulu told Sally to point towards the park. Sally pointed, and the birds started flying in the direction of the park. Lulu ran under Sally, following the way the birds were flying. When Sally was above the park the birds flew down and put her on the ground. Then the birds flew away. Lulu ran over and caught up with Sally.

Sally said that was a lot of fun and handed the sweater back to Lulu. Then Lulu put the sweater on a bench, and she and Sally went to play on the playground. Three kids went and sat down on the bench. While Lulu and Sally were playing on the playground, a bunch of birds came and landed on the sweater. Then the birds started flying up and lifted the sweater up.

But because the sweater was on the bench, the birds' feet were also holding the bench. And the bench started moving up as the birds were flying higher in the sky. The kids on the bench laughed out loud. Then the birds were flying in one spot in the air. Lulu and Sally saw all that happening and told the kids to point in the direction they wanted to go.

The three kids pointed in different directions at the same time. And then the birds just flew in a circle around the playground. Then Lulu told them to point down at the ground. The three kids all pointed straight down and the birds flew back to the ground. When the bench was back on the ground, the birds flew away.

Lulu ran over to the bench and picked the sweater up. She tucked it under her shirt and told Sally that she was going to go home and put it away. Sally agreed and said goodbye. Then Lulu went home and told her parents about the magic sweater and the birds. They agreed that the magic sweater should not be put down without anybody watching it.

Lulu put it away in a drawer and got ready for dinner. After dinner, Lulu helped clean up the dishes. Then she drew a picture of herself wearing the magic sweater, and being carried through the air by lots of birds. She put the drawing on the refrigerator. Then Lulu got ready for bed, and brushed her teeth. Finally, she laid down and closed her eyes, and went to sleep, slowly slowly slowly.
