Lulu and the Book Cover

One afternoon Lulu was reading a book. She had kept this old book for a long time. And the book was becoming worn out. The cover was beginning to peel and tear off. Lulu wanted to keep the book, and she wondered how she could protect the cover. Then Lulu heard her mommy tell her that to get ready to go to the grocery store together.

Lulu carefully put the book back on the bookshelf, then she got ready. She drank some water, and ate a small snack of carrots and cucumbers. Then Lulu put on her socks and shoes. Lulu and her mommy got into their car, and Lulu's mommy drove to the grocery store. When they arrived at the grocery store, Lulu helped get a shopping cart for her mommy.

Lulu pushed the shopping cart around the store, while her mommy put groceries in it. When they were done getting their groceries, they went to the checkout cashier. The cashier scanned the groceries and put everything in a few paper bags. Lulu helped carry the paper bags to the car.

And then they drove home again. On their way home, Lulu had an idea of how she could use the grocery store paper bags. After they arrived at home, Lulu helped put away the groceries. Then she took the paper bags, and some scissors, and she cut the paper bags open from the bottom.

Now she had a large rectangle of the paper bag. Lulu wanted to make a design on the rectangle piece of paper bag. She went outside and found some picked a few leaves off a plant. Then she went back inside. She got out some of her coloring markers. She used a red coloring marker on the first leaf, and then she pressed that leaf onto the rectangle piece of paper bag.

She was able to make a red leaf print this way. Then she used a purple coloring marker on a second leaf, and pressed that onto the rectangle piece of paper bag. Now she made a purple leaf print. Then she used a yellow coloring marker on the third leaf and pressed that onto the rectangle piece of paper bag.

She was able to make a yellow leaf print this way. Lulu made more leaf prints on the rectangle paper bag until it was covered all over. Next she was going to make a book cover with it. She turned over the rectangle piece of paper. Then she got her old book which had a torn cover.

She put the book on top of the rectangle paper. Then she folded the rectangle paper over the front and back of the book. She cut the edges of the paper, and then taped those edges into the book. Now she closed the front and back of the book and looked at it. She had made a new book cover for her book, and it had leaf print designs on it. Lulu threw away the leftover pieces of paper, and put away the scissors and tape. Then she continued reading her book, slowly slowly slowly.
