Lulu and the spare tire

One afternoon Lulu's friend Sally was coming over for lunch. Lulu went downstairs to wait for her outside. When Sally's mom drove up in front of Lulu's building, there was a popping noise. Lulu looked around to see where the noise came from. It sounded as though it came from the car Sally's mom was driving. 

Lulu looked closer, and could see that one of the tires was going flat. And the air from the tire was coming out. Sally and her mom stepped out of their car to take a look. They also heard the popping noise. They could all see that there was a sharp nail that had poked into the tire. 

The nail must have been on the road, and the car drove over it, and that's what popped the tire. Then Sally's mom said that they needed to change the tire. There was a spare tire in the trunk, at the back of the car. And Lulu watched as Sally's mom opened the back of the car and took out the spare tire. 

Then Sally's mom took off the flat tire, and put the spare tire on the car. Finally, Sally's mom put the flat tire in the back of the car. Then Sally and her mom went upstairs to have lunch with Lulu and her mommy. Lulu told her mommy about the flat tire, and Lulu's mommy asked Sally's mom if she needed any help. Sally's mom said that she just needed to take the car to a mechanic after lunch. 

Lulu's mommy said that the mechanic she used is nearby, and she called him. Lulu's mommy asked the mechanic if they could bring the car to his repair shop to fix the flat tire. And the mechanic said yes. But first Lulu and Sally and their mothers had lunch. 

Then after lunch, they all went together to the mechanic. Sally's mom drove her car carefully with the spare tire on it, because the spare tire is smaller than the normal tire. When they reached the mechanic's car repair shop, he told them that they would be next. Then the mechanic took the flat tire from the back of the car. 

He found the nail in the tire. The mechanic pulled the nail out of the tire and fixed the flat tire. Next, he used an air hose to put more air into the flat tire. Now the tire was fixed. Then the mechanic took the spare tire off the car, and put the fixed tire back on it. Finally the mechanic put the spare tire back into the trunk of the car. 

Sally's mom was very happy to have the tire fixed. She paid the mechanic, and was ready to leave. Then Sally and her mom drove Lulu and her mommy back to their building, and dropped them off. Lulu said goodbye to Sally. Lulu and her mom went upstairs and into their home. 

When they got inside Lulu drew a picture of Sally's car, with three normal tires, and one smaller tire which was the flat tire. And she wrote above her drawing "changing a flat tire." Lulu thought it was great to learn about how a tire is changed. Then Lulu was tired and ready for a nap. She laid down and went to sleep, slowly slowly slowly.

Magic Stamps

One day Lulu wanted to write a letter to her friend Jimmy. She took out her pen and notebook, and turned to a blank page. She wrote a short letter saying that she enjoys being his friend. Then Lulu tore out that page and folded it. She got an envelope and put the folded paper in the envelope. She closed the envelope and wrote Jimmy's address on the front of the envelope. But now she needed a stamp.  Lulu went to look for a postage stamp in a drawer. But all the stamps at home were finished. And Lulu decided to go to the post office to buy new stamps. Lulu got ready and put on her shoes and her backpack. She put the envelope in her backpack and went outside. Lulu walked to the post office. When she arrived there, she saw a sign on the door. Tiger And Zebra On A Boat

One day Tiger was working on a boat. The ship needed a new anchor. The anchor holds the boat in one place when it is out in the middle of the water, far away from land. The anchor is a heavy metal hook, which is connected to a long rope that can be lowered all the way down to the bottom of the sea.  While the boat was tied to the dock on land, Tiger removed the old broken anchor. Then Tiger put a new anchor onto the boat. Now the boat was ready to go out on the water again. Zebra was walking by and saw Tiger on the boat.
