Lulu gets sick
Early one morning, Lulu woke up and wasn’t feeling well. Lulu didn’t know why. Maybe it was something that she ate for dinner that wasn’t good. Or maybe somebody she played with the day before had a cold, and now she caught that. Lulu got out of bed, and her stomach gurgled.
Oh no, she thought he was going to throw up. So she went over to the bathroom, and leaned her head over the toilet bowl, facing down. Suddenly she could feel her stomach pushing things out, and then bleck, she threw up. Bleck again, and she threw up a little more.
Lulu felt dizzy and tired after throwing up. She rinsed her mouth clean at the bathroom sink. Then she asked her daddy to come over and check on her. Lulu’s daddy saw that she wasn’t looking very good, and touched her head which felt warm. Lulu’s daddy decided that they would go see the doctor, just to make sure.
Daddy carried Lulu, because she was too tired to walk by herself. When they arrived at the doctor’s office, the nurse told them it would be a short wait until it was their turn. Lulu was glad she had a chance to see the doctor soon. When it was their turn to go into the doctor’s room, the doctor checked Lulu’s temperature.
The doctor looked at the thermometer, and told Lulu’s daddy that she had a fever. And that must be why Lulu threw up in the morning. The doctor wrote a prescription for a fever reducing medicine, and said that they could pick it up at the pharmacy downstairs.
Then the doctor gave Lulu a sticker for being so brave and well-behaved at the doctor’s office. Lulu smiled and looked at the sticker, which the doctor put on her shirt. It was a sticker showing a little boy and little girl jumping, with the words “healthy and happy” underneath them.
Lulu didn’t think that she could jump right now, but she was looking forward to when he would feel better enough to jump again later. Lulu and daddy went to the pharmacy downstairs, and got the fever reducing medicine. Then they went home to take the medicine.
When they got home daddy read the instructions on the fever reducing medicine, and it said to take it with water, but not to eat any food. Lulu didn’t even feel hungry, and was glad not to eat anything yet, because she didn’t want to throw up again, or do bleck again. Lulu took the medicine, and then went to lay down and rest.
Later when Lulu got up from her nap, she was feeling better. And she decided she would try to eat something, because now she was feeling hungry. Daddy touched Lulu’s head and it didn’t feel as warm as before, so the fever must be going away. Daddy made a sandwich for Lulu, and Lulu ate the sandwich, slowly slowly slowly.
(my niece asked for a story about getting sick and going to the doctor)
