Lulu makes lemonade
One hot afternoon Lulu went with her parents to the grocer store to get some groceries. While there, they got a small bottle of lemonade to drink because it was such a hot day. Then Lulu asked if they could also get some lemons to make some fresh lemonade.
When they got home, Lulu looked up a recipe for how to make fresh lemonade. She would need lemons, sugar, and cold water. So first she took the lemons and cut them up into four pieces, and put them in a kitchen mixer. Then she crushed all the lemons and drained out the lemon juice until there was one cup of fresh squeezed lemon juice.
Next, Lulu measured half a cup of sugar, and not any more in order to make it less sweet. Then Lulu stirred the sugar directly into the lemon juice, and it dissolved very well. Lastly, the mixture of fresh lemon juice with sugar stirred into it, was added to one and a half quarts of cold water, plus a little bit of ice all in a big empty pitcher.
Finally it was ready, and they had more lemonade to drink. But since they had already drank some lemonade from the grocery store, they put this lemonade in the refrigerator to enjoy later on. Then the next day, they decided they wanted some lemon cake from the grocery store to have with the lemonade.
Lulu and her parents went back to the grocery store, and found a small lemon cake, and they brought it home. They cut it up into thin slices, and after lunch they each had small slice of lemon cake with their homemade lemonade that they made the day before.
Lulu was so proud of the homemade fresh lemonade. After lunch she was getting tired, and she wanted to take a nap. And she laid down and went to sleep, slowly slowly slowly.
(after reading this story, my niece made lemonade with her mom, my sister)
